Upgrade of the railway regulations to EU standards
The European Commission Delegation in Sarajevo has assigned Italferr, which is the leader in a group of internationally renowned companies, with auditing the railway regulations in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Specifically, the performance deals with an analysis of the railway regulations with regard to infrastructure and services and their upgrade in accordance with the European standards and directives.
Once the technical support for the local Ministry of Transport is complete, the new regulations should allow activities of the newly established “Railway Regulatory Body”, specifically with regard to the licensing to infrastructure operators and companies authorised for railway service.
Work started in October 2009 and will end in May 2011.
