Italferr at the International OICE (Italian Trade Association for Engineering and Technical-Economic Consultancy Work) Forum on BIM

On 20 April in Milan at the Assolombarda Auditorium for Confindustria (General Confederation of Italian Industry) of Milan, Monza and Brianza, the prestigious International OICE Forum on BIM  (Building Information Modelling) entitled "The evolution of design: international best practice and software tools compared" was held.
Hosting many highly acclaimed international speakers and pioneers in the usage of BIM, this event was also the place that Italferr's Managing Director, Matteo Maria Triglia, delivered a speech entitled “Lessons and recommendations from Italferr after its use of BIM”, . His words were followed by a debate on best international practices as a strategic value in design and construction.

Italferr was ahead of other companies in the sector when it used BIM to design buildings. Now, it has turned its hand to using it in infrastructure design work.
A combination of using BIM and being able to rely on solid corporate knowledge acquired after decades of striving to improve and staying abreast of developments in its sector has lead to Italferr's success abroad. Over the last few years, it has brought some impressive job orders home, outstripping competition from many great companies specialised in railway, metropolitan and even road design.
As a result of its integrated digital management, BIM technology offers many clear advantages: greater efficiency and productivity, fewer mistakes and less downtime both in the design and construction phase, better information sharing, more accurate and consistent monitoring of works, not only during the construction stage but also for management and maintenance operations.
