Bologna-Padova
The Bologna-Padua route is an important link between the north east of Italy and the national north/south Milan-Rome main intercity line.
On this route, relevant infrastructure and technological investments have been planned, aiming at giving the route itself the necessary performance features, especially in terms of supplying passenger and freight transport, to entirely fulfil the role of important connecting artery between the North/South main intercity line and the East/West axis.
The main projects are:
• Automatic Block System (ABS)
(consisting of technological upgrade work for the signalling system across the entire line and technologically upgrading the railway stations)
• technological/performance work on main lines. Phase
(consisting of a series of works of a predominantly technological nature, aimed at obtaining, on the Bologna-Padua line, consistent performance standards that are also consistent with expected service levels) (€218m)
• adjusting bridge on the River Po to standards
(consisting of elevating and adjusting the existing bridge, as established in the new regulations, as well as in building a new bridge to complete the track doubling in the stretch from Pontelagoscuro to Occhiobello)
