Bra Station

In March 2012, the Municipality of Bra (Cuneo – Italy), following a tender procedure, engaged Italferr to prepare the Preliminary and Final Designs for the relocation below ground of four station tracks and the removal of the existing level crossing near Bra Station.
Following the completion of the Preliminary Design (in November 2012), a Feasibility Study based on the new regional rail transport policies was developed (May 2013), envisaging the electrification of the Bra-Alba segment and involving a new simplified layout for the General Redevelopment Plan for Bra Station.
This study identified a design solution which was presented to the technical panel of the Institutions from the Region of Piemonte, Rete Ferroviaria Italiana and the Municipality of Bra. This solution is part of the development plans for the Metropolitan Railway System of Turin and is linked to a planned service extension of the SFM4 Turin-Stura-Bra segment to Turin Caselle Airport and Alba.
The new Bra station, built partially below ground, has 4 centralised tracks in total, 2 above ground and 2 below ground.
