Aerodynamic interaction between adjacent trains and structures


Italferr has conducted several theoretical and experimental studies on HS lines (field measurements, wind tunnel tests, 3D numerical modeling) in the field of fluid-dynamic excitation and of response of the structures adjacent to the tracks during HS train transit. The research work has allowed to identify the existence of strong dynamic interaction between barrier and train, which should be taken into account in the design phase.
These studies, moreover, have investigated the aerodynamic effects in tunnels (doors, systems, signals, etc.), in underground stations (safety and comfort of passengers present on the platform) and in the trains in strong wind areas.
