Sardinian railway network
The work concerning Sardinia’s regional network essentially aims to achieve radical improvement in efficient management, via automation of the main installations, coupled with complete renovation of all technological installations for safety and signalling.
Further aims consist in qualitatively and quantitatively increasing supply near the main urban hubs (Cagliari) and in widespread, improved accessibility of rail travel to customers.
The two following main projects have been planned with regards to the above described aims:
- Decimomannu-San Gavino track doubling
- Modernising and speeding up the Sardinian Network
