National Transport Plan
Italferr, in its capacity as leader of the international joint venture formed with renowned Dutch and Serbian companies in the sector, has done on behalf of the Belgrade European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR) the drafting of the Serbian National Transport Plan.
Italferr was responsible for defining the network development scenario for railway, road, airport and river infrastructure until 2025 on Serbian territory, considered the crossroads for Balkan transport, in as much as it is crossed by Corridor X (the axis between Germany/Austria and Greece/Turkey), by Corridor VII (the Danube) and by the Belgrade – Bar railway line.
These activities in Serbia concerned the study of demand and supply for transport, analysing existing infrastructure, developing a traffic model, drawing up a comprehensive transport programme, preparing an investment plan for infrastructure and maintenance, preparing bids for tender for feasibility studies and training technicians from the local Infrastructure Ministry.
Activities were completed in 2009.
The new bridge over the Danube
Italferr is, moreover, preparing the pre-design and executive design for the new Zezelj iron bridge over the Danube, in the town of Novi Sad, to replace the old destroyed bridge and preparing the tender documentation necessary for entrusting the construction of the new road/railway bridge.
Activities were completed in 2009.
