Applying European Directives on Railway interoperability
Italferr has supplied Czech Railways with technical assistance in applying European Directives on interoperability of the traditional railway network. Czech Railways have been the first among new EU-member Countries to start the process of European integration within the field of railways.
Ample strategic and technical support has benefited the process of regulatory, institutional and technological adjustment on the basis of Directive 2001/16 UE for the interoperability of the conventional Trans-European system and has also involved developing a Public Relations strategy.
The project, financed with Phare funds allocated by the European Commission, was completed in 2004.
