Main lines
Italferr is responsible for adjustment, upgrade and renewal work on the main routes of the Italian railway network. Developing and modernising the old network according to the most modern technological and safety standards, integrated with the High Speed/High Capacity system currently being installed, comes in response to requirements in growth from national and international passenger and freight traffic.
Work essentially concerns:
• track doubling and quadruplication
• upgrading and regenerating existing lines
• installing technological systems for traction, safety and managing operations
