Tirrenica nord

The Tirrenica Nord Main line is, for passengers and freight, the major link between major railway and intermodal centres along the peninsular stretch of the alto Tirreno (Genoa – Pisa – Livorno – Rome).
Substantial technological and infrastructure work is planned on this Main line, aimed at giving the railway route the performance features necessary to give the Main line itself the capacity, in terms of passenger and freight traffic, to fulfil the role of crucial North-South link in the north-western corner of the peninsula.
