What are cookies?
Cookies are small files in which a user’s browsing habits are stored; they are sent by websites to the user’s terminals (PC, tablet, etc.).
Each time a user enters a website a cookie recognises the user's device, which allows us to enhance the user experience, improve the quality of our website and collect information about how the site is used.
Some cookies are automatically erased at the end of the browsing session, while others are stored in the terminal, usually in the browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.).
Current privacy laws (Legislative Decree 196/2003), recently changed in implementation of Directives 2009/136/EC and 2009/140/EC, identify two categories of cookies, namely:
- those for which it is sufficient for the website owner to provide a information statement;
- those for which an information statement is not sufficient, because each single user must give prior consent.
For further information on cookies and privacy issues, please consult the special document provided by the Italian Data Protection Authority.
Users can manage cookies by changing the preference settings in the Internet browser. A user may accept all cookies, accept only some or reject them all. However, if you decide to block all cookies (including the strictly necessary ones) you may find it impossible to access some parts of the website or use the services offered.
To disable cookies for all the most common browser types (listed in alphabetical order), follow the instructions below. If you wish to change cookies settings in any other browsers not included in the list, please refer to the support documentation provided by the browser provider.
