Fire Resistance of Structures


Italferr has been carrying out the study and analysis of the behaviour at high temperatures – such as those that may ensue in the event of fire – of the bearing structures of civil engineering works located both underground and elevated, with special reference to those pertaining to railway and road infrastructures. To this end, based on national and international sector regulations, as well as on the results of the experiments and on other data deriving from scientific research, analytical simulations have been conducted using calculation methods tailored to each case studied and based on the principles of Construction Science and Technology. The simulations have allowed to analyse the behaviour over time of the bearing structures in presence of fire represented by ‘Temperature/Time curves’.
