Italferr’s international strategy

An interview by with the CEO Carlo Carganico.

“For several years now we’ve started exporting our know how worldwide“, said the CEO of Italferr, who then added: “We began with several projects in the Middle East, and particularly Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. This is the area we’re mostly engaged in, although we also operate in 60 countries worldwide. We have opened a total of 17 offices abroad. Besides the Middle East, we are operating in a number of Silk Road countries and in Latin America, and we are also thinking of securing contracts in Poland, Turkey and the United States. Shortly, we will also be opening an office in India, which is about to be visited by the Italian Prime Minister, Paolo Gentiloni, on a trade mission“.

Regarding the goals he aims to achieve during his term, Mr. Carganico explicitly mentioned “increasing the company’s size, to improve its earnings“, followed by digitisation and the development of new work methods, especially BIM (Building Information Modeling), the new 3D design and modelling software for construction processes.

Finally, the company’s HR implementation policies, regarding a work force of 1,300 employees, 600 of which are highly qualified engineers. “At the beginning of the year we were 160 less“, added Mr. Carganico, suggesting that hirings by the company will continue.
