Italferr hosts the National AICQ Conference on the construction sector

The new ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environment) standards and the strategic role played by environmental certifications and criteria.


The Conference, held on 23 June at the TRAINI Room at the at the headquarters of Italferr, the engineering branch of FS Italiane Group, was an opportunity to further investigate the issues relating to the application of quality, safety and environment (QSE) management systems in the engineering and construction sectors.

The Conference stressed the opportunities associated with the new ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environment) standards and the strategic role played by environmental certifications and criteria.

The speakers showcased the activities carried out by Italferr in the field of environmental innovation and sustainability, through specific projects featuring the use of BIM (Building Information Modelling) design methods and the adoption of internationally accepted sustainability protocols, such as LEED and Envision, as well as the environmental and safety requirements applied to construction contracts and procurement.

These opportunities – said the CEO Carlo Carganico – are part of a process aimed at consolidating the know how and skills of the company, in view of the future challenges we are called to tackle. Innovation, quality and the environment are core elements of the company, to be developed in parallel in order to achieve the ambitious targets we have set ourselves, in line with the Group’s 2017 – 2026 Business Plan, to increasingly develop our competitive edge.
