Italian State Railways Delegation at Tehran

An MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) to develop the Iran railway network, to seek out new High Speed and conventional train permanent way material,  to train railway staff and create a test centre was signed in Tehran on 9 February 2016 by the Deputy Minister of Transport and the Chairman of RAI (Iranian Railways), Our Sayed Aghaei, and by the Managing Director of the Italian State Railways, Renato Mazzoncini.
Italferr has been in Iran since December 2015 with eight highly qualified resources. It is currently providing consultancy services at the offices of the Iranian Railways (RAI) in Tehran with a view to obtaining a PMC contract which will involve monitoring the activities of CREC (Chinese Railway Engineering Consultant) - the Chinese group which will be constructing the High Speed Teheran-Qom-Isfahan segment and providing RAI with technical and financial assessments.
