New business pacts with the Republic of the Congo

Milan (Italy), 18 November 2016

Italferr will plan and oversee the technological and infrastructural modernisation and upgrading project for work on the railway line connecting Pointe-Noire to the Congolese capital, Brazzaville, and serving as national thoroughfare.
The activities envisaged fall under the trade contracts worth 9 million €uros signed in the presence of the Italian Minister for Economic Development, Carlo Calenda, by the Congolese Minister of Planning and Major Projects, Jean Jacques Bouya, and by the MDs of Italferr and RFI, Carlo Carganico and Maurizio Gentile.
The commitment of these two Group companies in the Congo is one more tangible sign of the ongoing cooperation between the Italian State Railways and the Congolese Railways (Chemin de Fer Congo Océan –CFCO) begun in February 2015 when the Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the presence of the Prime Minister of Italy, Matteo Renzi, and the President of the Congo, Denis Sassou ‘Nguesso.
