Renewal of Carbon Footprint Certification

The GHG emission calculated for the specific final project subject of the audit “Railway connection with Venezia airport”.

On 19 December 2017, RINA Services completed its audit, at Italferr, with a positive outcome, for the renewal of the Methodology for the quantification and reporting, based on the designs, of the Greenhouse Gas Emissions generated by the transport infrastructure, according to the requirements of the UNI EN ISO 14064-1:2012 standard”.

The methodology consists in the measurement of the “Carbon Footprint” for each design state, featuring a prior evaluation of the amounts of greenhouse gases (GHG) produced as a result of the subsequent completion of the infrastructure.

The certification audit featured a verification of the data relating to the implementation of the calculation method applied to the final project of the “Rail link to Venice Airport”, including an examination of the competence and training of the staff involved, with a specific focus on information maintenance and management and document filing.

This result has been achieved thanks the competence and hard work of the team set up by the two organisation units involved, the QHSE and the Environment, Architecture and Land Planning.
