Application of European Directives on railway interoperability
Italferr provided the Czech State Railways with technical support in the application of the European Directives on the interoperability of the conventional railway network.
The Czech Railways were the first, among the new EU Member States, to kickstart the European rail integration process. The project received Phare funding from the European Commission.
The extensive strategic and technical support provided by Italferr facilitated the legislative, institutional and technological adjustment process, consistently with EU Directive 2001/16 on the interoperability of the trans-European conventional rail system and also included the development of a Public Relations strategy.
Activities were completed in 2004.
