Environmental Planning

Environmental planning plays a vital role in integrating an infrastructure project within the area concerned and ensuring its acceptance by the local communities.
At Italferr we develop ad hoc designs, such as the Environmental Site Set-up Plan and the Environmental Monitoring Plan to pinpoint the salient environmental aspects of the site works, as well as mitigation measures and monitoring activities required to ensure the effective environmental monitoring and supervision of the works.

CONTAMINATED SITE MAPPING
In order to reduce the possible risk of interference from contaminated sites, during the design phase we carry out the relevant surveys and perform site investigations for the environmental characterisation of the soil and the water, and soil samplings for laboratory testing.

PROCUREMENT AND LANDFILL MAPPING
To effectively meet the project requirements, with regard to the quantities and types of materials, we carry out a survey of the local procurement sites and landfills.

CONSTRUCTION SPOIL MANAGEMENT
In order to optimise the re-utilisation of the excavated materials, during the design stage we define the procedures for the best spoil management, which includes developing Spoil Use Plans pursuant to Ministerial Decree 161/2012.

ENVIRONMENTAL MITIGATION
To mitigate the potential environmental impact of the construction work, a concerted effort is made to identify the most effective measures for reducing noise, vibrations and atmospheric emissions, as well as projects for ensuring the integration of the project  into the surrounding landscape.
