Environmental Sustainability Assessment

At Italferr we have developed a dedicated method to assess environmental sustainability and to identify the ecological balance effect of a project, highlighting both its strengths and weaknesses, in terms of environmental sustainability.
The sustainability objectives are determined based on an analysis of internationally recognised documents: 10 EU criteria, the Aalborg Commitments, the National Strategy for Sustainable Development. These have been broken down into macro-objectives and specific objectives leading to the definition of measurable indicators.
This tool provides designers with a constant feedback and useful information to help them improve the project characteristics. It also improves interaction with the local communities concerned, by providing information on the project and focusing on local needs, based on the sensitivity of the stakeholders.
