The Environment

The certitude that the railway is a tremendous opportunity to regenerate the areas it traverses, fostering mutual knowledge and uniting cities to the countryside, has helped us to discover new design criteria. These new parameters enable us to make assessments which incorporate environmental, financial and social objectives, working towards sustainable development whereby ongoing environmental surveillance on construction sites is a constant commitment. The methods used strive towards an environmental equilibrium which does not only verify what might impair the ecosystem, but it also brings out the benefits that infrastructure brings with it. Using the Environmental Project of Site Environmental Plan and Environmental Monitoring Plan it is possible to identify the environmental aspects relating to worksite operations as well as the mitigation measures required to safeguard the natural equilibrium of the area.
