RISHIKESH-KARNAPRAYAG RAILWAY LINE

Italferr was awarded by Indian Railways RVNL the detailed design and Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services of Lots 1 and 8 of the new broad gauge railway line between Rishikesh and Karnaprayag.

The 125.20-km-long route with about 85 percent in tunnels (105.47 km in 17 tunnels) includes 12 stations.

Work began in March 2019 and is currently underway - a very important project for the state of Uttarakhand.

HIMALAYA TUNNEL

Italferr was awarded, in joint venture with Lombardi SA, the executive design and construction supervision of the "Himalayan Tunnel".

This is the first 12 km section (almost entirely in tunnels) of the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag railway line, in the state of Uttarakhand.

The entire line, whose total length is 125 km, is characterized by a demand for religious tourist transport and runs parallel to the bed of the Ganges River, at the foot of the Himalayan mountain system.
