CALAFAT-VIDIN BRIDGE

The "New Europe Bridge" is a 4-lane road and rail link, approximately 1,300 meters wide and almost 2 km long, crossing the Danube to join the cities of Calafat in Romania and Vidin in Bulgaria.

Italferr provided technical assistance and supervision of works during construction, along with all necessary technical design adjustments. The new bridge is part of the Pan-European Transport Corridor, which that connects the German city of Dresden to the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul thereby allowing rapid interconnection to the major European transport corridors.
