On 24 November, Italferr awarded the contract pertaining to the awarding of five Framework Agreements, related to the Qualified Support to the Technical and Economic Feasibility Design and Final Design of rail and road infrastructure, for a total value of 20 million Euros.
The multidisciplinary content of the assignment involves many specialties: rail and road routed, geological studies, bored and cut&cover tunnels, bridges and viaducts, hydraulic studies, environmental and acoustic studies, census and resolution of interfering sub-services, station and technological buildings, electrical traction, construction site setting up, work scheduling, environmental design of the construction site, Land Use Plan and land management, redevelopment of degraded areas, demolition, expropriation planning, electrical systems serving railway stations, tunnels, yards and roadways, mechanical systems and Safety&Security, to be implemented also via the development of BIM information models.
The tender, entirely conducted remotely via the Procurement Portal, was awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous bid; the award was made under the condition precedent of the verification of participation requirements, currently ongoing.

Contractors will also be asked to take their cue from the contents of Italferr's "Sustainability Policy" in order to develop their own, if they do not already have one, thus confirming the path initiated by Italferr for the integration of sustainability issues into the design and construction processes of infrastructure works.
