MASS TRANSIT: METROS, TRAMS AND TROLLEYBUSES, INTERMODAL CENTRES

BERGAMO TRAMWAY

Italferr is engaged in the design and works supervision of the new Valle Brembana T2 tramway, an 11.5 km route that runs almost entirely (95 percent) along a preferential route and in a protected seat between Bergamo and Villa d'Almè. The Company will develop significant lots of the project such as depot, tunnel, structures and diverse geotechnical, geological, hydraulic, seismic and archaeological studies.

GENOA METRO

Italferr is engaged in designing the extension (1 km) of Line 1 of the Genoa Metro from Brin station, the current terminal in the northwest of the city, to the new Canepari station, on the north-south route along the Polcevera Valley.

GENOA MONORAIL

Italferr has been engaged in the feasibility project of the new Genoa monorail that will connect the future Erzelli railway station with the technology park. The 2.3 km long monorail system consists of a station downstream, connected to the railway station and ready for future expansion towards the Cristoforo Colombo Airport, and two stations on the top of the Erzelli hill.

BRESCIA TRAMWAY LINE

Italferr has been awarded the feasibility study for the construction of the Brescia tramway line that will run through the city at key points not covered by the metro line, for a total length of 23 km, within the municipality of Brescia. The project envisages maintenance depots, civil works for resolving interference with the existing railway line, and work on Electric Traction, TLC, Signalling and Lighting.

TURIN METRO

Italferr has been entrusted with the preliminary design for the construction of Line 2 "Rebaudengo-Cimitero Parco" of the Turin Metro and the preparation of feasibility studies for its possible northeast and south extensions. The new Line 2, a driverless "light automatic" type, will run for about 28 km in double-track tunnels and will have 32 stations.

SIR3 TRAMWAY OF PADUA

Italferr has been appointed to lead the pool of designers consisting of Erregi, SDA Progetti and Pini Swiss, during the final design and safety coordination phase of the new "SIR 3" urban system in Padua, a 2nd tramway line for the city in Veneto, approximately 5.4 km long with 13 stops, terminating at the Padua Central Railway Station.

CAIRO METRO

Italferr, in partnership with the company EHAF (Egypt's leading engineering company and one of the top 100 in the world), was awarded the contract for the verification activities of the project for the modernisation and technological upgrading of the Cairo Metro Line 1 that, with its 44 km in length and 35 stations, is now the first and most important in the Egyptian capital, one of the most densely populated and largest cities in the world.

KANPUR AND AGRA METROS

Italferr has been awarded, in partnership with Spain's Typsa, the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) activities for the Indian metro lines project in Kanpur and Agra, two of the largest industrial cities in northern India. The contract envisages the construction of 4 corridors for a total length of 62.6 km divided between the two metro systems, including 57 Stations and 4 Depots.

FOCUS ON

MUMBAI METRO

Italferr, as part of an international consortium, is providing Project Management Consultancy services for the construction of elevated lines 2B and 7 of the Mumbai Metro, which includes 9 elevated corridors for a total length of 146.5 km, including 32.5 km underground. Line 2B from Nagar to Mandale runs for 23 km and includes 22 stations while line 7 from Andheri to Dahisar is 17 km long and includes 14 stations.

DELHI-GHAZIABAD-MEERUT REGIONAL RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEM

As part of an international JV, Italferr is providing, on behalf of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation-NCRTC, Project Management and General Consulting services for the construction of the new Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut regional rapid transport system consisting of a main elevated double-track viaduct 82.15 km long, with 2 tunnels, 25 stations and 2 depots.

BOGOTA' METRO

Italferr has been awarded the works supervision for the design, construction and commissioning of Line 1 of Bogotá's first metro line, one of the projects with the greatest international appeal on the mass transit front. The line, based on the use of driverless trains, will span 24 km, 22 km of which elevated, and will run through 16 stations.

ISTANBUL SUBURBAN LINE "MARMARAY CR3"

'Marmaray CR3' is a rail transport project in the city of Istanbul that includes a rail tunnel under the Bosphorus Strait and the upgrading of existing suburban rail lines along the Sea of Marmara from Halkalı on the European side to Gebze on the Asian side. Italferr served as the Independent Design Verification Engineer (IDVE).

FAST RAIL LINK BETWEEN ESENBOGA AND ANKARA

Italferr has been awarded by the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments the feasibility study and the preliminary and final design of the new fast rail link between Esenboga International Airport and the city of Ankara, running underground for 26 km and including 7 intermediate stations serving the capital's new expansion areas.

DOHA METRO

Italferr has developed the detailed design of the route of the Doha Metro's Red Line in Qatar, connecting the New Doha International Airport in the West Bay Area with the capital. The new line will extend for approximately 12 km in a northerly direction from Mushaireb station through a twin-bore tunnel and with the development of 7 new underground stations.

LUSAIL TRAMWAY LINE

Italferr has provided Project Management Consultancy services for the new tram transport system in Lusail, the newly developed "Waterfront" city in the state of Qatar, about 15 km north of the capital Doha, which will boast an advanced and innovative urban Light Rail Transport system consisting of 3 main lines (yellow, green and purple) and 28 stations, for a total length of about 28 km in its final configuration.

TASHKENT METRO

Italferr was awarded the contract for the design, construction and commissioning of the Sergeli line of the Tashkent Metro in Uzbekistan. The line, 7.6 km long, is served by 6 stations and built completely above ground. Next, the Company was engaged in the extension project. The total length of the extension rests on a new 2.93 long km railway, including a 1.5 km long tunnel and two new stops in the country's traditional oriental architectural style.

LIMA METRO

The Metro Line 2 Consortium, concessionaire for the construction and management of Line 2 and branch line 4 of the Lima Metro system, has awarded Italferr the task of coordination and engineering integration, from the design phase to the construction and commissioning phases of the project, for 35 km of tunnels and for 35 stations.

ONTARIO LINE - RSSOM

The Ontario Line is a new automated subway line under construction that will run through the city center of Toronto, connecting the Ontario Science Center to the Exhbition Place exhibition area. The Ontario line will be approximately 16 km long and will have 15 stations.

HURONTARIO - LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT

Italferr has signed the contract for technical assistance within the Hurontario Light Rail Transit (LRT) project. The LRT will run along Hurontario Street in Mississauga and Brampton and be fully integrated with municipal transit systems.

NEW MARKETS: ROADS, MOTORWAYS, PORTS AND INTERPORTS

 

A24-A25 MOTORWAY

Italferr has been entrusted with the Technical Assistance to the Extraordinary Commissioner for the preliminary design of the A24-A25 motorway safety works (Smart Road Tender, Gran Sasso Water System Upgrade and Gran Sasso Systems Regulation Upgrade). The project is partly funded by the NRRP's National Complementary Plan and will be completed by the first half of 2023.

4TH ROCADE MOTORWAY OF ALGIERS

Italferr was awarded the contract to draw up the Construction Project of the Hanacha-Berrouaghia "4th Algiers Rocade - Lot 1" motorway for an extension of about 33 km, including interchanges and road, structural, geotechnical and hydraulic works. The final route of the motorway, about 262 km long (with 15 interchanges), will cross Algeria from west to east, passing about 80 km south of the capital. The typical section consists of two three-lane carriageways plus an emergency lane, one in each direction. The work has been completed.

CIVITAVECCHIA PORT

Italferr was awarded by public tender, called by the Civitavecchia Port Authority, the Feasibility Study for the reorganisation of the rail system in the port area. The project stems from the need to identify an ideal solution to connect the new works such as the Container Terminal and the Ferryboat Dock with the national rail network, in line with the Port's development, upgrading and redevelopment plans, in response to the trend of constant growth in freight and passenger traffic.

NEW AL FAW PORT

Italferr has provided railway engineering consulting services for the New Al Faw Port in Iraq (Master Plan and Front-end Design), intended to become "the country's gateway to the world". Activities included the design of the freight rail yards serving the port and its connection to the existing rail network.
