BOGOTA' METRO

Italferr was awarded the supervision of works on Line 1 of the Bogotá metro, one of the most internationally renowned infrastructure projects on the mass public transport front.

The contract involves the construction of 24 km of metro line (22 km of which will use viaducts), including 16 stations, as well as depots for rolling stock in the city's metropolitan area. Also planned is verification of fulfilment of contractual obligations on the main project investment.

The tender, managed by World Bank on behalf of Empresa Metro Bogotá, is part of the main project "PLMB - Primera Línea del Metro de Bogotá - Tramo 1" and was awarded by the Consorcio Supervisor PLMB. It includes, in addition to Italy's Italferr with a 25 percent share and MM S.p.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Milan, with 15 percent, also Spain's AYESA with 40 percent (a company that heads the participating group with AyesaMexico S.A DE C.V. and Ayesa Ingeniería y Arquitectura S.A.U Sucursal Colombia) and Colombia's MAB Ingeniería de Valor S.A. with 20 percent.
