PART OF THE INNOVATION APPROACH AIMED AT DEVELOPING A DIGITAL TWIN OF THE RAILWAY INFRASTRUCTURE, COMPLATE WITH ALL INFORMATION FROM THE BASIC DESIGN DATA, CONSISTS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE GEOTECHNICAL MODEL

The ability to handle geotechnical data through 3D geometric modelling is particularly useful for complex works, in complex stratigraphic contexts, and in all cases where the 2D representation of data distributed over large areas would result in excessive model approximation.

3D model management enables immediate analysis and visualisation of the stratigraphy and mechanical characteristics of the subsurface through the processing of a significant amount of data, allowing high graphical representation ability (profiles and sections) to aid the designer.

The ability to be able to manage data from the geotechnical model and the separate infrastructure information models allows for real-time updating of information at the various design stages. This method is an added value in the process of computerisation and digitisation of the project.
