The Italian-Indian Business Forum was held in New Delhi on 2 March, co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani and by the Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal.
A meeting that brought together some of the key players of Made in Italy active in India, to share current and future strategic projects, particularly in the sectors of energy transition, connectivity, space, cybersecurity, mobility sustainable and defence.
The FS Group has been represented by the CEO of Italferr – Andrea Nardinocchi, who shared the international presence of the Italian railways, with a focus on Italferr's commitment in India, in the railway and mass transit sectors.
The engineering company of the Infrastructure Hub of the FS Group has been present in the country since 2014 and is currently engaged in several strategic projects. From designing India's first cable-stayed bridge, the Anji Khad, which crosses the Anji River in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, to providing general engineering and consultancy services for the new Rishikesh-Karanprayang railway line, including the Himalayan Tunnel, in Uttarakhand, in the north of the country. Italferr also confirmed its leadership in Mass Transit, with the awarding of contracts for the construction of two subway lines in Mumbai, line 2 and line 7 inaugurated in January 2023. The FS Group company offers Project Management Consultancy for Kanpur and Agra Metro Lines, two of the largest industrial cities in North India.
Nardinocchi confirmed its interest in strengthening the partnership with the Indian country, making the excellence of Italian engineering know-how available to support the development and strengthening of the Indian transport system, in the Rail, Roads and Mass Transit sectors.
