Digitization, art and culture come together in the figure of the Digital Humanities Designer

Italferr speaks at the launch of the Reginae Digital Humanities Institute.

The launch event of Reginae, the international multichannel platform for digital transition in art and culture, which aims to become a forum and meeting place for developing digital experiences, was held in Rome, on May 8, 2023, in the Sala Spadolini of the Ministry of Culture.

The goal of the project, implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and with Rai Radio1, Rai Cultura, Forbes, Askanews, and Formiche, under the patronage of Federculture and AIF, is to define the role and skills of the digital humanities designer, a professional capable of enhancing works and sites, nurturing real, mixed and virtual emotional experiences, managing information and communication, and developing economies.

The event brought together institutional representatives of the Ministry of Culture and of the leading players in the world of technological innovation and art, including Italferr, the infrastructure branch of FS Group, represented by Francesca Frandi, Head of Archaeology, who spoke at the event sharing her commitment and experience in preventive archaeology activities, from the earliest stages of works design. In fact, since the 1990s, the company has set up an in-house team of archaeologists working in a preventive manner to identify, study and safeguard the local archaeological heritage, with the aim of reconciling infrastructure development with the protection and enhancement of our history and culture. Archaeology therefore has become an integrated element of the planning process, whereby awareness and sensitivity play a greater role in the construction of strategic infrastructure designed to bring about major transformations for improving regional development.
