Italferr shares its experience at the conference on "Strengthening collaboration, promoting safety"

INAIL and FS Group join forces to promote health and safety at work

On 15 October 2025, a conference on "Strengthening collaboration, promoting safety" was held at the Antonio Maglio Auditorium of the INAIL headquarters, dedicated to the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between INAIL and FS Group for strengthening collaboration in the development of joint occupational health and safety projects and activities.

The conference, involving institutional stakeholders, social partners and companies promoting health and safety at work, was attended by the President and the Director General of INAIL, Fabrizio D'Ascenzo and Marcello Fiori, and the CEOs of FS, RFI and Italferr, Stefano Antonio Donnarumma, Aldo Isi, and Dario Lo Bosco, respectively.

The results of the joint activities between INAIL and FS were presented at the technical sessions, with a special focus on innovation and the dissemination of a culture of safety as fundamental tools for raising prevention levels.

Among the experiences illustrated at the conference, the case study of the Naples-Bari high-speed railway construction site, Orsara-Bovino section, was found to be especially interesting. Italferr, as technical consultant for RFI, played a key role in coordinating the activities, promoting synergy between INAIL, FS and the contractors.

At the session dedicated to the construction site, moderated by Italferr's Hirpinia–Orsara Works Director, Tommaso Galtieri, it was highlighted how the complex nature of the work was conducive to boosting innovation and research, with the aim of extending the good practices built up there to other infrastructure projects.

In his speech, the Head of Design and Construction Site Safety at Italferr, Pierluigi Lozi, emphasised the management of near misses and the incentive system, underlining how an effective design and organisational approach can serve as a driver for disseminating a culture of safety. Lozi also reiterated the importance of safety leadership, based on awareness, motivation, engagement and decision-making.

The conference was an important opportunity to discuss and evaluate the experience gained, confirming the joint commitment of INAIL and the FS Group to promoting increasingly safe, innovative and sustainable work environments.
