The Auditorium of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane in Piazza della Croce Rossa in Rome hosted the closing conference of the year of the AIS - Sustainable Infrastructure Association.
As an occasion for constructive discussion on the opportunities connected to the NRRP for sustainable infrastructures, Italferr - the engineering company of the FS Group's infrastructure hub - was invited to participate in the event seeing it is involved with various structures in the Working Groups aimed at the publication of Position Papers.
Of particular note were the Working Groups on Sustainable Construction Sites (Position Paper 5, work completed and published by AIS); Sustainable Concrete: a Shared Road Map and Excavated Earth and Rocks, both still in progress.
Among the guests at the meeting, Mr. Pietro Baratono, president of the 2nd Section of the Superior Council of Public Works and vice-president of the PNRR-MIT Special Committee, described the PNRR as a great opportunity to develop reforms based on the analysis of process flows, making regulations more efficient. This was followed by the intervention of jurist Paola Brambilla, Coordinator of the EIA Subcommittee of the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, Ecological Transition, who highlighted the importance of a common and shared language between operators and those who are called upon to assess major planning, capable of going beyond the procedures of computerisation and digitisation.
From the speeches it emerged how the production of Position Papers constitutes a valuable contribution for Public Administrations and technical structures, fundamental for guiding and providing reference points for decision-making and activities. Italferr's commitment to provide a concrete contribution to the design and realisation of increasingly sustainable infrastructure was thereby strengthened.
