Between 4 and 5 December, the Electrical Substation at Capena on the 'Direttissima Roma-Firenze' line was put into service in the new layout that includes the use of the new 3 kVdc Functional Units in metal carpentry replacing the existing 3 kVdc masonry section.
The ESS is now in service, under remote control from the Electric Traction Operating Unit (DOTE), via the new Automation and Diagnostics System (SAD) with the new "C-design" power supply layout for Electric Traction (TE that has allowed to reduce the number of 3 kVdc power supply units from six to four.
The contract provides for the implementation of sixteen ESSs on the ‘Direttissima Roma-Firenze’ line.
The activation is in addition to those already carried out and concerning the ‘Direttissima’ Electrical Substations of Gallese, Bassano, Orvieto, Allerona, Montallese, Farneta, Arezzo Nord, Valdarno Sud, Renacci and San Donato, while work is ongoing to complete other activations in the short term.
