Rail Baltica delegation hosted by Italferr and RFI

Technology of excellence for connecting the three north-eastern European countries.

Within the framework of the CCS Engineer services that Italferr is providing for RB Rail AS with the partners Systra and Egis, on 28th and 29th of March 2023 hosted a delegation of Rail Baltica for a technical visit of the Rete Ferroviaria Italiana Operation Control Centres in Bologna and Milano Greco.

The focus of the visit was the OCC organizational approach and systems used by RFI in term of: Traffic Management, Maintenance Management, Passenger Information Management and Safety & Security Management for the two type railway networks (Conventional and High Speed) managed by those OCCs

The experiences and lessons learned acquired during the visit, represents a further input to support the definition of the OCCs organization and configuration for the future Rail Baltica railway corridor.

Italferr has been involved in the Rail Baltica project since 2021 providing support to the electrification activities of the new HS line and in 2022 it was also awarded the contract for the supply of engineering and project management services for the preparation, procurement and construction supervision of the Control-Command and Signaling subsystem.

The new High-Speed ​​Rail Baltica line aims to connect Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania as a catalyst for sustainable growth in Europe.
