Turin-Milan-Brescia High Speed Line

Completion of phase one of revamping the Multi-station Command and Control System

During the night between 8 and 9 November 2025, phase one of the project for the technological upgrading of the Multi-station Command and Control System (SCCM) was activated at the Command Post of Milan Greco Pirelli on the Turin-Milan-Brescia high-speed line.

The project, the result of collaboration between Italferr, the FS Group's engineering company, Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) and the contractor Hitachi, is a decisive step forward towards achieving innovation in high-speed rail traffic supervision and management systems.

Italferr played a strategic role in the design and coordination of the activities, ensuring cutting-edge technological solutions and an integrated approach that minimised operational impacts and guaranteed service continuity.

The upgrade has introduced a new hardware and software platform for managing the Turin-Milan and Treviglio-Brescia high-speed/high-capacity lines and prepared the system for future expansion including the Brescia-Verona and Verona-Vicenza high-speed lines.

The new modular, virtualised and expandable architecture ensures reliability, flexibility and scalability, minimising critical issues during migration from the previous system.

This activation is the first phase of the contract and will be followed by phase two, consisting of revamping the Multi-station Command and Control System (SCCM) on the existing Turin-Padua line.
