Mumbai, Italy-India Forum 2025

Italferr is playing a leading role in the global challenge of sustainable and hi-tech infrastructure

Mumbai, 10-11 December 2025

The third Italy-India Forum of 2025 was held in Mumbai, following the event in Brescia, in June. The high-profile event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, and the Indian Minister of Industry and Commerce, Piyush Goyal, as well as leading industrial and financial players from both countries, with strategic support from the Italian Embassy and ICE.

Italferr was represented by Alessandro Gnani, Asia-Pacific Area Manager, who followed the work of the Forum and participated in bilateral meetings with Indian institutions and partners, consolidating the Company's position as a key player in major infrastructure projects in the country.

The Forum confirmed the shared commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships between Italy and India, focusing on innovation, sustainability and shared development. Key topics included digitisation and hi-tech technologies, ecological transition, knowledge sharing and the consolidation of the Indo-Mediterranean Corridor, a symbol of increasingly solid cooperation.

Minister Goyal reiterated the Indian government's willingness to invest in sustainable and technologically advanced connectivity and transport projects for building roads, railways and underground railways, with a high social impact and that will change the face of the country.

Against this background, Italferr, the engineering company of FS Group, confirms its position as an Italian centre of excellence for designing modern, safe and sustainable infrastructure. Operating in India for over 10 years, Italferr has contributed to the construction of major infrastructure projects, such as the Anji-Kadh bridge, Kanpur, the Agra and Mumbai metros, the Delhi-Meerut railway and the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag link across the Himalayan range.

The Forum sent out a clear invitation to further strengthen collaboration with local institutions and industry, bringing Italian know-how to the service of innovative and sustainable mobility. Italferr is ready to take up this challenge, confirming its role as a global leader in the infrastructure sector.
