Italferr completes activation of the Ronchi Junction

Towards the completion of the Verona-Vicenza HS/HC line

In the night between 24-25 May 2025, Italferr activated the new Ronchi junction service facility, once again confirming the commitment and high professional level of the experts and engineers working in the field.

The new facility, located on the historic Verona-Vicenza line, near the station of Montebello Vicentino, is a further step forward towards the completion of the Verona-Bivio Vicenza HS/HC line, a strategic infrastructure partially financed with the NRRP funds, scheduled for completion on 30 June 2026.

The Junction will be used to receive the trains – rails, sleepers and ballast – which will be initially stockpiled at the nearby construction site to be used later on for the construction of the HS/HC line.

The facility will also be used to allow the track-laying train to transfer from the existing line to the stretch of high-speed line under construction between Montebello Vicentino and Vicenza. The new facility is designed to become part of the existing Turin-Padua Module 4 Multi-Station Central Computerised Control Centre (ACCM) and will also be partly used for the maintenance operations of RFI's Regional Infrastructure Operations Division (DOIT) of Verona.
