Belgrade, Serbia – Italferr, the engineering company of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiano Group, reaffirmed its strong international vocation with a recent corporate visit to its Serbian-based subsidiary, IES d.o.o.
A high-level delegation – made up of Irene Gionfriddo, Foreign Commercial Development, Business Affairs and Sustainability Director, Vincenzo Macello, Engineering & Operations Director, and Roberto Borghi, Head of the Foreign Market and Non-captive Department – testified to Italferr's ongoing commitment to the development and consolidation of its operations abroad, and especially in the Balkans.
The visit was an important opportunity to take stock of the progress of the activities of IES d.o.o. in Serbia, a strategic market where Italferr is already involved in large-scale railway infrastructure projects. The meeting made it possible to further strengthen the synergy between the parent company and its Serbian subsidiary, as well as to outline strategic future prospects, highlighting the key role played by IES d.o.o. in expanding Italferr's operations in South-Eastern Europe, with a view to spreading 4D and 5D BIM and new technologies for project and construction site control to Serbia as well, by making available Italferr's leadership role in the field of advanced digitisation.
During the visit, the Italferr delegation was able to meet with the management and the engioneering team of IES d.o.o., to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the Serbian and regional market, with the aim of further expanding the project portfolio and consolidating Italferr's position as a key partner for infrastructure development in the Balkans.
